The Possum Juniors are back for another summer of fun! Come join us as we bring to the stage a childhood classic.

Auditions for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, directed by Devon Lynch, will occur at 6pm on Sunday, April 17th, and Monday, April 18th at Possum Hall, 44 Old Laurel Highway in Georgetown, DE.

Director… Devon Lynch
Music Director… Stacey Hartman
Stage Manager… Elizabeth Holz
Possum Juniors Advisor… Steve Givens

Because this is strictly a Possum Juniors production, only children and teenagers up to 18 years-old are eligible to audition. NOTE: Anyone above the age of 18 WILL NOT be cast in the show!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a musical, so we ask that you prepare 16-32 bars of any song. Please bring your own sheet music. We will have an accompanist to play for you. The vocal audition will be a closed audition. The only ones in the room for your vocal audition will be the Production Team.

After Vocal Auditions, you will be asked to read excerpts from the script with various scene partners. The audition will end promptly at 9:00p.

Caractacus Potts (M) – An eccentric, brilliant, English inventor and loving father and son. His inventions and children are his life. (A3-G5)

Truly Scrumptious (F) – Daughter of the famous candy maker, Lord Scrumptious. Strong and independent, but gentle and sweet. She befriends the Potts children and falls in love with Caractacus. (A3-E5)

Jeremy (M) and Jemima Potts (F) – The children of Caractacus. Each of them have very wild imaginations. Total children at heart who love their father dearly. (C4-E5)

Grandpa Potts (M) – Caractacus’ father. A former war hero. He loves to tell tales of his old adventures. Sort of a second father to Jeremy and Jemima. (C4-E5)

Baron Bomburst (M) – Tyrannical ruler of Vulgaria and a lover of toys. A man-child, he is very immature, needy, and whiny. (E4-E5)

Baroness Bomburst (F) – Head of the Vulgarian Parliament and a hater of children. Tyrannical and dramatic. (G3-G5)

The Toymaker (M) – With all children outlawed in Vulgaria, this toy-making genius only works for the child-like Baron. Very intelligent. Very frightened. (C4-E5)

The Childcatcher (M) - He makes sure that Vulgaria is child-free. Evil and manipulative. Hates children almost as much as the Baroness. (Non-Singing Role)

Boris (M) – A member of the two-person Vulgarian gang that works for the Baron and the Baroness. Though he is not smart, he is the leader. Good comedic timing. (C4-G5)

Goran (M) – A member of the two-person Vulgarian gang that works for the Baron and the Baroness. A dumb oaf. Good comedic timing. (D4-G5)
